Principal Message

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to an exciting 2019-2020 school year!

Each year brings change and this new school year will be no different.  New teachers will be joining us this school year:  Dr. Kimberly Hunley, Middle School Social Studies and Grade 8 Homeroom; Mr. Colin De Guzman, Grade 5 Homeroom; Mrs. Elena Hedderig, Grade 3; and Mrs. Vanessa Wenninger, Grade 1.  Mr. Bruno Cilloniz from Mater Dei High School will be our Recorder and Band Teacher for this coming year and will feature a new Jazz Band for selected 7th and 8th graders.

We will continue to concentrate our energies on our math and language arts curriculum throughout all grade levels.  With our new math and language arts series we have seen a continual growth in all of our students.

This coming year we will also be implementing more STEM activities in the curriculum. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  Through a generous donation of $15,000 we were able to purchase a new science curriculum for Grades 3-8, and this summer have reorganized the science lab so that the equipment and materials are easily accessible for teachers.

Parents are the first and primary educators of their children and all of us at Saint Anne School want to partner with you in this important role that you have. We will continue to have the First Sunday of each month as our School Family Mass at 8:45 am. It is critical to your child’s faith that they see you at Mass, that they see you pray, and that you pray with them. As Pope Francis recently told parents, “Dear Parents, teach your children to pray. Pray with them.”  This year we have also begun to hold GRADE LEVEL RETREATS, one per year, in Campbell Center with a retreat leader for parents and children to grow in their faith as a family.

I pray with and for you as you prepare to send your children back to school with us again. Thank you for entrusting them to our care. May God continue to bless your beautiful families throughout this new school year with His blessings of peace, love and joy!

In Jesus and Mary,

Sr. Teresa Lynch, CSJ
