Lynne Velasco

Fourth Grade Teacher

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to the fourth grade page! I am Ms. Velasco and I am thankful and blessed to be returning to teach fourth grade this year. I earned my teaching credential and masters degree from the University of Phoenix and this will be my eighth year as part of the St. Anne family. I look forward to developing a student-parent-teacher team with each family in order to facilitate the spiritual, personal, social, and academic growth of all students. Please join me in approaching education with dedication, enthusiasm, curiosity, hard work, creativity, and a willingness to engage in a variety of learning methods to maximize our time together.

I am especially excited to begin our faith journey together as Catholic Christians. We will spend time in the presence of God through daily prayer, weekly Mass, and adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. My primary goal in Religion is to serve as a guide to assist each of you in developing a personal relationship with God Our Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit while learning about the faith and traditions of the Catholic Church. And I can’t wait to see what I will learn from you!

Together, we will create a classroom community that is supportive and respectful to maximize student learning. This will be accomplished by daily looking for the good in one another, maintaining a no-bully and no-gossip policy, having an inclusive environment (in which all students feel welcome), and engaging in positive interactions among students, parents, and teachers.

You will grow in your knowledge of technology and curriculum with our one-to-one chromebook program. You will become a 4th grade scientist as we explore the Discovery Education tech-book and conduct experiments in the science lab. We will also experiment with other apps and websites throughout the year for math, language arts, social studies, and religion. These resources, which are aligned to meet the Common Core Standards, will serve to integrate technology across the curriculum.

I look forward to you continuing to be a member of our school family, or joining us and learn why I love it so much here at St. Anne’s. Teaching in a Catholic school is not a job to me, but a vocation for many reasons. The staff and faculty are committed to helping students reach their full potential. We care for and support one another. Helping those in need is a priority and is lived out with service projects in the Santa Ana community. We offer after school sports, electives, and clubs. And best of all, we get to pray together every day!!

I look forward to meeting and working with each of you.

God bless,
Ms. Velasco
